The Synthesis training style
Our training style is interactive, involving people in discussions and tasks that help them to explore and get to grips with theory and practice. We use creative and unusual activities to make training accessible and enjoyable at the same time as demanding.
Each session will typically include personal reflection, small group work, whole group feedback and discussion and input from the trainers that develop knowledge and skills at the same time.

Accredited programmes
You can ask Synthesis to devise a new accredited training course, or take advantage of one of our highly adaptable externally accredited programmes.
We currently have three accredited programmes, each of which has been used to help diverse groups of adults and young people to gain recognised qualifications, awarded by NCFE.
Our programmes have a number of special features:
- They use innovative techniques to overcome barriers to learning, engage inhibited or reluctant learners and unlock their potential.
- They address the intellectual, emotional and social dimensions of learning, helping participants to build collaborative relationships, self-confidence and self-esteem as they gain knowledge and skills.
- They are designed to lead to practical real life outcomes for individual participants and the communities or organisations with which they identify.
- They provide the support and tools to develop sustainable groups and projects.
- External evaluation has shown that the experience of taking part in these programmes has a significant positive impact on the wellbeing and educational achievement of learners.
Because of these features, our clients have been able to attract funding to cover the costs of running the programmes.
The units of the programmes can be delivered as freestanding short courses leading to units of credit that contribute to the full certificate at a later date.
Although the programmes go into depth about the subjects they cover and teach sophisticated skills, our training methods make them accessible for people whose educational experience has been disappointing or alienating, as well as people who are more confident and motivated.
All three programmes have been successfully delivered with groups that included people with different abilities, of diverse origins and from marginalised communities.
